Five UK suppliers to start your aluminium milling enquiry
Here are five companies that publish CNC milling capabilities and aluminium work. Open their machining pages from the table, compare the details, and add the relevant companies to your RFQ list.
The shortlist
These are the suppliers’ own published statements, read on 14 October 2026. The list is alphabetical. Your part’s grade, geometry and tolerances still need a supplier’s written acceptance.

Before you choose a supplier
A machining envelope is a machine dimension, not an assurance that your part fits. The supplier must confirm tool access, workholding and the required tolerance for your geometry.
None of these pages gives a quote or reserves a production slot for your batch. Ask the supplier to confirm the material grade, batch quantity, price and delivery date together for the same part.
Harnam publishes a typical milling lead time under five days. That is its published statement, not a delivery date agreed for your part. Its milling page gives no numeric tolerance; a turning tolerance does not answer a milling enquiry.
Get supplier answers and quotes
If you want us to handle the enquiries, Makestry checks your agreed brief against the suppliers’ published capabilities, asks the listed suppliers whether they can make the part and obtains their written quotes. You receive the answers, comparable quotes and remaining gaps, with our first choice and its reason.
We agree the process, material, batch size, size and tightest tolerance, required date, UK region, suppliers and questions by email before starting.
For the initial brief, leave drawings, part numbers and confidential details out of our form and hello@makestry.com.
An accurate part quote may need a fully dimensioned drawing or 3D model. Do not send technical files to Makestry; supply required files directly to each supplier through a suitable channel you and the supplier agree and are authorised to use.
Before accepting the brief, we agree the quotation basis, required technical information, direct exchange route and permissions by email. These must be sufficient to request quotes before we accept the brief and state its start and end dates.
We record only the authorised quotation basis and reference agreed with you: material, quantity, tolerances, additional processes, inspection requirements and delivery assumptions, with any gaps. Keep the technical files with the supplier; do not send us confidential part numbers or model identifiers.
The initial shortlist arrives on working day five, followed by the day-ten update. Day one is the first working day after we accept the brief by email. We state both dates in that email; working days exclude weekends and bank holidays in England and Wales.
GBP 2,900. We check the brief against what each supplier states, and each supplier confirms in writing whether it can make the part. We ask each listed supplier for the missing facts agreed for your brief and report dated answers, quotes and gaps. Our first choice is named with its reason. You pay when the confirmed shortlist is delivered, not before. If fewer than two suppliers confirm they can make your part and quote for it within ten working days after we accept your brief by email, there is no charge. A "cannot make this" does not count. Silence or an unclear reply does not count. The fee is due only after we send the day-ten update holding written able-and-quoted answers from at least two suppliers. Late answers do not undo the no-charge term. Nothing is paid before the day-ten update is sent. Where the update holds written able-and-quoted answers from at least two suppliers, we invoice the fee and you pay by card, in pounds, through a link sent by email.
The no-charge term applies automatically. We do not negotiate quotes or place orders; supplier answers are statements, not certification.
